Air Cargo Complex: The Air Cargo Complex has been in operation since 1977 where International Import and Export, Cargo is stored and processed.Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (MIAL) and Air India (AI) are custodians of cargo appointed by Customs at Mumbai. MIAL handles 31 airlines (as on September 2008) and AI handles 14 airlines. MIAL handles 65% of the International volumes at Mumbai. Cargo Apron: The Cargo Complex is located west of the International Passenger Terminal.The area facilitates AI and MIAL imports, exports and perishable operations.The common user facility for Exports is 7,500 sq.m and currently handling11,000 tonnes per month.The terminal operator for courier is leased to the Express Industry Council of India. The small shipments are handled via the International Passenger.Terminal or the Domestic Passenger Terminal. Larger express parcels are handled through the General Cargo Warehouses.
